Janet Gwendolyn Smith, ISA is an independent fine art appraiser, art consultant, art historian, art authenticator and curator. She is independent from any gallery, auction house, museum, or other art related business. Janet mentors American art history students nationally. She contributes American artist biographies to www.askart.com with the focus on 19th-21st century women artists.

Janet provides fine art consultations in the areas of authentication, appraisal, program design, collection development, inventory and documentation. She has been active in the art community since 1987. The past 10 years her focus has been her clients, their art and art research. She utilizes recognized experts to assist in the review of the art. Janet Smith, ISA is a full member of the International Society of Appraisers and an associate member of The American Institute of Conservation. We provide fine art appraisal services.

Wayne Sealy-Omaha,NE,USA-Art director, illusionist and expert in artist style technique, tips and tricks. Sealy assisted with art research projects in the past 5 years. His Mystery Manor Theater-Omaha is known internationally for development of makeup artists, actors, costume design and staging. He contributions include national charities, rock musicians, movie and stage theater projects.

Winter Mendelson-Snellville Georgia,USA-student and research assistant for the Jack B.Yeats project.

NEBRASKA ART HISTORY AWARDS 2008-December 23, 2008
Four scholars received Nebraska Art History Medals for their art history research during the year of 2008. Ed Bentley, Susan Heinemann, Karen Hollingsworth, and Julia Odorisio.

NEBRASKA ART HISTORY AWARDS 2007-December 22, 2007
Four scholars receive Nebraska Art History Medals for their art history research during the year of 2007.
Will Anderson, graduate of Doane College, 2007 B.A. in English. Researching Omaha art history independently at the University of Nebraska-Omaha utilizing Omaha periodical microfilm of the 19th century. He assisted editing an article for an international publication about the radiography of paintings. Anderson is also an award winning independent film maker.
Laura Hollingsworth, Calvin College, 2008 graduate B.A. in Religion with a minor in Psychology. Hollingsworth's research included periodical microfilm at the University of Nebraska-Omaha the summer of 2007. Hollingsworth discovered old photographs of 19th century art studios on Farnam Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
Audrey Jacobs, Creighton University, undergraduate in Fine Art for her continuing research of Nebraska 19th century women artists at the Louvre in Paris, Omaha, and Kansas City. Jacobs continues her undergraduate art education at New York City University in 2008.
Julia Odorisio a graduate of Creighton University, B.A. in Art History, English Literature, French, and a Minor in Film Studies. Her art research was at the Louvre, Musee de Orsay, London National Gallery and the Grand Lodge of England during the summer of 2007. The art research continues in Pennsylvania. Odorisio is studying law at Villanova University.

"The art research focus is 19th century Nebraska artists. This journey is back to Nebraska's art roots. The awards are a token of appreciation for time and valued contributions."

The research is part of a Nebraska Art History Project under Smith's direction. The project is preservation of American & Nebraska art and art history.
