Artist Unknown Oil on canvas 1798-1806 Click on image for journal article. The painting is in excellent condition. The varnish has clouded and there are only two small places where the painting needs to be retouched. There are no tears, holes or lifting of the original pigment. Charles F. Gunther of Chicago military collection was exhibited in Omaha, NE when his candy factory and museum were destroyed by fire in 1899. Lininger and Gunther were fellow masons and friends. The painting provenance is from the Lininger Estate Sale of 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska.
