MICRO-LOANS

Uma has two teenage children and since the Tsunami has taken care of the two year old shown in the picture with her. She is illiterate and previously sold flowers in the street. She estimates that her average daily income has more than doubled.

Vijaya is the mother of three girls and also previously sold flowers in the streets. Since buying a cart with her loan, her daily sales have increased so much that she now employs two people just to make garlands. Her daily profit is double what she made before.

Esakiammal is an illiterate 60-year-old widow with one grown up daughter. She used the loan to set up a shop in her house. Her income has only increased marginally, but she is now spared the pain and effort of walking the streets in order to make a living.

Easwari (picture on front) and her husband have three children and previously only had seasonal work. They used the loan to invest in snacks manufacturing. Since they started the business, daily sales have grown to Rs 500/- to 600/- per day and they now employ two other people to help the business.

Having seen great success and lives truly changed we are excited to continue working with SDMT and are in the process of expanding our Micro-Loan program into other countries around the world. In order to do that, we need your help!
