Tell me more about becoming a Mentor...

So you think you might want to become a Mentor? Great...but the requirements are pretty steep.

In order to become a Mentor you must first become a great trader. How can you teach others if you can't trade yourself? How do you do that? You enroll in your workshop and afterwards begin the process of trading .... lots of chart time! You will need to complete 50 CONSECUTIVE successful trades in a row (5 PIPS minimum after paying the brokers fee). Typically it will take over 300 trades to complete this part of your training since every time you lose on a trade you start all over at ZERO. I got to 43 trades and then lost ...OUCH!

In the meantime, you will need to begin referring people into the RFG/CFG Training program. The better you trade the easier it is to do your recruitment. Each time you recruit one person, you will attend THEIR workshop with them. You cannot double up and have two in class at the same time since that will negate your 20 hours of classroom time requirement per student. You must complete 120 hours of workshop time WITH your new traders. You will be paid for this time in class. Starting with the 4th class you will teach 50% of the class (with your Mentor overseeing and monitoring you at all times) - the 5th is 75% and the 6th is 100% of the class.

The next step is to fly to Richmond Virginia to CFG headquaters. Here every month, we have an 8 hour corporate review personally taught by Don Snellgrove. This insures that what you were taught in the field is consistent with corporate policy. You will sign binding agreements with CFG as it's representative. You will form your own company exclusively using the charting software, Radar FX and the proprietary trades of CFG.

At this point you will be certified as a registered Mentor of CFG. To continue as a registered Mentor you MUST trade Live in the market every month...We are traders who train...not professional trainers who do seminars! There are mandatory meetings held around the country and at corporate headquarters which you will be required to attend and those expenses are borne by you.

What is the key to successful Mentoring?

#1 Be a great trader....The better you trade, the better you will train ...the better you train the better you will trade.

#2 Have a sincere desire to help people get what they want. Most people don't neccesarily have making a million dollars as their goal in the Forex. For most people the goal is to replace their income so they can quit traffic jams, bosses, time constraints, financial stress and work from the comfort of their own home. Many mothers have very small goals: create an income stream that enables them to contribute financially to the household and stay at home and raise their kids. I believe this person is just as successful as someone making in the high 6 figures. It's all about achieving your goals. If you help them get what they want, you will achieve what you want!

#3 Do the work. It takes lots of hours to become a trader and a great mentor. Once you have a student trader, you are tied to the hip with that person. You must work with them, go through their aches and pains and do over and above what is required to make them successful. Anything less, will defeat your purpose.

In a nutshell, here are the requirements:

  • Do your first workshop
  • Trade 50 consecutive trades in a row without a loss
  • 120 hours of workshop time WITH 6 separate new traders
  • Teach a portion of the last 3 workshops
  • 8 hours corporate training
  • Form your own Mentoring company
  • Trade live in the market monthly
