Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

When should I call to schedule a handfasting?
Handfastings, Wiccanings, and Special Services require pre-planning. Please be considerate and give us as much notice as possible of these events. Less than 4 weeks advance planning on these events may result in your not being able to get the date you'd like to schedule. PLAN AHEAD!

Is there a charge for these services?
Counseling and some speaking engagements are charged for individually. Please call for rates and availability. All other services listed above are done as a service to the community on a donation basis only.

How many times must we meet before our handfasting?
Rev. Haughey would like to meet with prospective couples a minimum of twice before a handfasting. These visits are a vital part of the commitment process and should not be missed. Failure to show up for pre-handfasting meetings may result in Rev. Haughey not performing your service.

Will my marriage be legal?
If you have secured a marriage license from the Clerk of the Peace in the county in which you live, your marriage by Rev. Haughey will be legally recognized and recorded.

Is there such a thing as a Wiccaning Certificate?
Wiccaning Certificates are provided at the time of your child's naming ceremony. The certificate says "Rite of Passage" and states that your child was welcomed and named on this day.

If my family is Christian, can we do a ceremony that won't offend them?
Rev. Haughey has handfasting and baby naming ceremonies that are universal and unbiased. She would be happy to perform one of these ceremonies at your request.
