On Eds place we stripped the stain from the the house and brightened the wood siding to accept new stain. Cabots wood brightner brings back the new look luster of fresh new cedar. The roof was pressure washed entirely and re-oiled.

Because the liken had such a heavy build-up on the roof, we also sanded addtional liken off the shakes.

We re-placed Brads wood columns on the back deck with fiberglass columns. The wood columns didn't hold up on the beach front!

Sorry, no java browser

The base of Brad Tonkins columns were rotted beyond repair. We replaced them with fiberglass columns designed for coastal conditions. The picture right shows where moisture caused a blister to break open.

This is a typical of tannic acid bleed coming through this window because of poor caulking around the glass and probably rust stains combined from inner stapling.

Moisture content blister or solvent entrapment blister from painting in direct sunlight over uncured primer or paint below.

As you can see there were quite a few problem areas on Brad Tonkins Ocean front beach home needing attention. We specialize in wood rot replacement using Smith and Company epoxy products. Please go to www.smithandcompany.org for more information. We recommended replacing the columns with fiberglass from Crown or other reputable fiberglass column builders.

Craig Tillitson, the inventer of "New Skin" (a liquid spray bandade) has a three million dollar mansion in Oysterville, Washington on the beach where he used fiberglass balusters and handrails designed for painting applications.
