Painting Victorians has been Jim's passion for the last 19 years in Astoria, Oregon. Astoria is the oldest American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains named after the famous fur trapper and entrepreneur John Jacob Astor. Many call Astoria little San Francisco after it's sprawling hills and beautiful Victorian age architecture.

Jim has been involved giving free painting workshops for the "Lower Columbia Preservation Society" and painted the beloved Flavel Carriage house museum as seen on the home page of his site. Mr. Weaver's clients include many members of historical organizations in the Northwest including societal member's personal Victorian homes in Clatsop County and awarded State of Washington's grant work for painting the 1892 Oysterville Baptist Church for the Oysterville Historical Society in Southwest Washington. Jim has painted all the beachfront homes for Ron Tonkin, Brad and Ed Tonkin. The Tonkins' are the owners of the largest new and used car dealership in the state of Oregon. Recently In 2003 Jim painted the personal coast home for Steven McGeady the former vice president of INTEL CORPORATION and Craig Tillitsons' Ocean front Mansion doing high end custom lacquer. Mr. Tillitson invented the product "New Skin"

Jim's own writing expertise (and others) on his website provides much needed information to the community teaching proper preparation techniques and safety measures used to make coating systems work in the rain driven climates of the Oregon and Washington coastline.

In Mr. Weaver's earlier 47 years to date Jim developed a passion for photography and worked processing and developing line negatives and half tone negatives for offset printing press work along with hours spent days on end in darkrooms developing color slides, prints and processing silver emulsion ferrotype plates for Christian newsletters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mr. Weaver received recognition awards from Eastham Kodak for his work and taught photography lessons in his original hometown of the heartland of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jim now takes digital pictures of clients homes and format enhances them completely painted using Benjamin Moores paint color selections to eliminate color guess work!
