antique fanlight fully restored using plated glass

Half of the historic glass in this lovely antique fanlight was cracked or missing prior to our restoration.

Most of the glass in this fanlight is not available as new now. Therefore, in order to duplicate the distinctive colors and textures it was necessary to fabricate glass pieces using 2 different pieces of glass in combination one over the other to get the colors and textures of the replacement pieces to match the original glass remaining. This process know as "glass plating" resulted in new glass that in indistinguishable from the old glass.
