Answers to frequently asked questions

Following are questions that we are asked most often concerning roofing products, methods, installation etc. You may find the answer to your questions here, if not, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

Question: Do you provide free estimates?
Answer: Yes, our estimates are free of charge. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with our bid for services. We value our potential customers, we do not consider it an inconvenience to look at your roof.

Question: Can you give me a "ball park" estimate over the phone?
Answer: No, we will not be able to provide you with a bid over the phone without seeing the roof, for a couple of reasons.
First we only provide accurate bids for the work that is neccessary, that requires inspection of the roof condition, measurement of the roof, etc. Much like an automotive body shop, they need to see the car with the dent to know what other damages / repairs are needed to fix the problem.
Second a "ball park estimate" is nothing more than a guess. Indicating a price on a guess could quite possibly lead to problems when it comes time to do the actual work. Neccessary work on the roof can change the price greatly which is not a surprise the customer needs to deal with in the middle of a job. We inspect your roof as thoroughly as possible and give you an accurate bid along with notifying you of any potential additional problems that could arise (possible rotted wood etc).

Question: Can you just go over the top of my existing shingles instead of tearing them off?

Answer: Sometimes we can, depending on your roof, and the existing materials. This is one reason why it is imparitive that we inspect your roof. City building codes require us to do our job a certain way, if you have multiple layers of shingles, we have no choice but to remove them "tear off". Evidence of bad wood / decking, will also require a tear off to repair the wood. We feel that tearing off the existing materials, inspecting the deck (wood) and the general integrity of the roof structure and components, then installing a quality roof will guarantee a long term roofing system.

Question: How long will it take to have my roof completed?

Answer: On average, one to two days for residential roofs, commercial roofs do not have an average time frame due to the vast size difference. If your residential roof is very large, or there are structural repairs needed, it will take a little longer. We have found this question is generated from people when they have seen another roofing company take a week or longer to complete a job on a similar size home in the neighborhood. We understand the inconvenience of having people you do not know, on your roof, in your yard, making noises you are not used to. We come to each job site with the man power, knowledge and equipment to complete the job quickly. However, rest assured we will never jeapordize our quality craftsmanship to hurry a job along.
