GREAT THINGS CAN HAPPEN

Great things can happen when people pull together for a common cause. The common cause that is long past due is a museum dedicated to the air transport industry. The daily loss of artifacts such as older aircraft and other items of historical value could cause a rich heritage to be lost and forgotten forever. The "Golden Age" of the airline industry must be preserved and this must be started soon as possible as the losses are occuring on a daily basis. You can see this loss at airport scrap yards, flea markets, garage sales, internet auction sites, and the list goes on. You can join us in this effort to preserve this heritage. As a matter of fact there are several ways you can help make this preservation and future museum happen!

The Foundation has no plan to build a museum itself. To explain that statement, the Foundation's mission is to support and encourage a city or government entity to build a museum. This has to do with basic economics. The Foundation plans to encourage this by first obtaining artifacts to display in that museum, such as aircraft, simulators, airline memorabilia, airport support equipment, etc. The Foundation will secondly, solicit financial pledges and donations from individuals, philanthropic entities, airlines, airline employee groups, airline support industries, et cetera.

By obtaining the above assistance, it is believed a suitable location will emerge. This locality will likely have a tourist base nearby so that the addition of the museum would be of benefit to both attractions.

To this end the Directors of the Foundation will work not only tirelessly but, voluntarily and will neither expect nor receive any compensation. Monies received will go strictly to the cause as required by law as a tax-exempt entity.

The benefits to the community are numerous, not the least of which is economic development. But of prime importance is the valuable educational supplement the museum can be to the community. This would include a classroom on location and career opportunities counseling. Many students do not know of the career fields available in aviation. A training school development adjacent to or in conjunction with the museum is also envisioned. With the present shortage of trained personnel the industry is wide open. This is opportunity knocking LOUDLY!
